4-pin AT/ATX/IDE power cable

A 4-pin Molex power cable that matches the hard drive/CD-ROM power connectors found on AT and ATX power supplies. Use it to tap into 5V or 12V DC from a desktop power supply for your projects — a convenient source of regulated power for high-current applications like LED strips, motors, and displays.

The cable comes with a pass-through connector on the other end (it's an adapter cable). Simply cut off the second connector before use to access the individual wires.

Key Features

  • 4-Pin Molex Connector – Standard IDE/Molex power connector compatible with AT/ATX supplies
  • 5V and 12V Access – Tap into both voltage rails from a single cable
  • Pass-Through Design – Second connector can be cut off for direct wire access

Ideal For

  • Powering electronics projects from an ATX supply
  • LED lighting and display projects
  • Bench power supply setups
  • High-current 5V or 12V applications

Package Contents

  • 1× 4-Pin Molex Power Cable (adapter style)
Note: Some older ATX supplies have an unstable 12V rail when the 5V line is unloaded. If using the 12V line without also loading the 5V line, a 10Ω 10W power resistor between ground and 5V can stabilise the output.
