Adafruit Data logging shield for Arduino [v1.0]

Discontinued: This product has been discontinued. Please see the newer assembled version for a drop-in replacement.

The Adafruit Data Logging Shield for Arduino combines an SD card slot and a real-time clock (RTC) on a single shield, making it easy to log timestamped sensor data to removable storage. The shield works with FAT16 or FAT32 formatted SD cards and includes 3.3V level-shifting circuitry to protect the card.

Key Features

  • SD Card Interface – FAT16/FAT32 support with 3.3V level shifter and on-board regulator
  • Real-Time Clock – Timestamps all logged data; battery backup lasts for years (battery included)
  • Prototyping Area – Space for soldering additional connectors, circuitry, or sensors
  • On-Board 3.3V Regulator – Reliable reference voltage and SD card power
Note: This is an unassembled kit requiring basic soldering skills. Arduino board and SD card are not included. Requires an ATmega328-based Arduino. Not fully compatible with Arduino Mega without sketch modifications.

Package Contents

  • 1× Data Logging Shield kit (unassembled)
  • 1× RTC battery
