Adafruit LIS331 Triple-Axis Wide-Range ±24g Accelerometer - STEMMA QT / Qwiic
The Adafruit LIS331 Accelerometer Breakout features the LIS331HH from ST — a triple-axis accelerometer capable of measuring up to ±24g, well beyond the ±16g limit of most standard accelerometers. It's ideal for high-impact and high-vibration applications where typical sensors would clip.
Built in the STEMMA QT form factor, this breakout connects via solderless I2C cables compatible with SparkFun Qwiic. An onboard voltage regulator and level shifting let you use it with both 3.3 V and 5 V systems. All pins are also broken out to standard headers for breadboard use.
Key Features
- Wide Measurement Range – Selectable ±6g, ±12g, or ±24g on all three axes
- Configurable Filters – Built-in high-pass and low-pass filters to tune readings for your application
- Adjustable Data Rates – Configure measurement frequency to balance performance and power consumption
- Dual Interface – SPI and I2C connectivity for flexible integration
- STEMMA QT / Qwiic – Solderless I2C connectors on both sides for easy daisy-chaining
- 3.3 V and 5 V Compatible – Onboard voltage regulator and level shifting for Arduino Uno, Raspberry Pi, Feather, and more
- Arduino & CircuitPython Libraries – Ready-to-use libraries with example code
Ideal For
- High-impact and crash detection systems
- Vibration monitoring and analysis
- Robotics and motion-sensing projects requiring wide g-range
- Sports and activity tracking with high-acceleration events
