Adafruit LoRa Radio FeatherWing - RFM95W 433 MHz
Add long-range LoRa radio to any Feather board with the Adafruit LoRa Radio FeatherWing. Built around the SX127x LoRa module, this add-on provides kilometre-range packet radio communication at 433 MHz — perfect for sensor networks, remote monitoring, and bridging to the Internet via a WiFi or cellular Feather.
Unlike WiFi or Bluetooth, LoRa uses simple packet-based communication with no pairing or association needed. With default settings, expect over 2 km line-of-sight range using a simple wire antenna, or up to 20 km with directional antennas and optimised settings.
Key Features
- SX127x LoRa Module – 433 MHz with SPI interface, software-tuneable frequency
- +5 to +20 dBm Output – Up to 100 mW transmit power, selectable in software
- ~2 km Range – Line-of-sight with wire antenna; up to 20 km with directional antennas
- Low Power – ~300 µA full sleep, ~120 mA peak transmit at +20 dBm, ~40 mA active listening
- Flexible Antenna Options – Solder pad for wire antenna, or add a uFL/SMA edge-mount connector
- Arduino Libraries – Ready-to-use packet radio libraries
- FeatherWing Form Factor – Stacks onto any Feather board
Ideal For
- Long-range sensor networks and remote data collection
- LoRa-to-Internet gateways via WiFi or cellular Feathers
- Campus or farm-wide wireless communication
- Battery-powered remote monitoring stations
Package Contents
- 1× Adafruit LoRa Radio FeatherWing (RFM95W @ 433 MHz)
- Header pins (soldering required)
