Product image 1

Adafruit MCP9808 High Accuracy I2C Temperature Sensor Breakout

The Adafruit MCP9808 is a high-accuracy digital temperature sensor with ±0.25°C typical accuracy over its −40°C to +125°C range and 0.0625°C resolution. It communicates over standard I2C and runs on 2.7V to 5.5V power and logic, making it compatible with virtually any microcontroller or single-board computer.

With three address jumpers on the back of the breakout, you can connect up to 8 sensors on a single I2C bus without address collisions. The STEMMA QT / Qwiic connectors on both sides allow solderless daisy-chaining for quick prototyping.

Key Features

  • High Accuracy – ±0.25°C typical (±0.5°C max from −20°C to +100°C)
  • Fine Resolution – 0.0625°C measurement steps
  • Wide Operating Range – −40°C to +125°C
  • I2C Interface – Simple two-wire digital communication
  • Up to 8 on One Bus – Three configurable address jumpers
  • Wide Voltage Range – 2.7V to 5.5V power and logic
  • Low Power – 200 µA typical operating current
  • STEMMA QT / Qwiic Ports – Solderless I2C connections on both sides

Ideal For

  • Precision environmental monitoring and data logging
  • Multi-point temperature measurement arrays
  • Calibration and reference temperature applications
  • IoT and weather station projects

Package Contents

  • 1× Adafruit MCP9808 Temperature Sensor breakout (with STEMMA QT / Qwiic connectors)
  • 1× Header pin strip
Note: STEMMA QT cable not included. Some soldering is required to attach the header strip for breadboard use.
