Adafruit NAU7802 24-Bit ADC - STEMMA QT / Qwiic
The Adafruit NAU7802 is a high-resolution 24-bit differential ADC breakout designed specifically for reading strain gauges, load cells, and other Wheatstone bridge sensors. With built-in gain amplification and calibration circuitry, it converts the tiny voltage changes from bridge sensors into precise digital readings over I2C.
The breakout includes screw terminal blocks for connecting 4-wire sensors: E− (ground), E+ (configurable reference voltage from 2.4–4.0 V), and A−/A+ differential inputs. STEMMA QT / Qwiic connectors provide solderless I2C wiring to your microcontroller.
Key Features
- 24-Bit Differential ADC – Ultra-high resolution for precise strain and force measurements
- Built-In Gain & Calibration – Configurable gain and on-chip calibration for Wheatstone bridge sensors
- Configurable Reference Voltage – E+ output adjustable from 2.4 V to 4.0 V
- Screw Terminal Blocks – Four terminals (E−, E+, A−, A+) for easy sensor wiring
- I2C Interface – Fixed address; use a multiplexer for multiple sensors on one bus
- STEMMA QT / Qwiic Connectors – Solderless I2C connection (cable not included)
Typical Wiring
- E− → Ground (often black wire)
- E+ → Excitation voltage (often red wire)
- A− → Differential output − (often white wire)
- A+ → Differential output + (often green wire)
Ideal For
- Digital scales and weight measurement
- Strain gauge and load cell applications
- Force and pressure sensing
- Industrial and scientific measurement projects
Package Contents
- 1× Adafruit NAU7802 24-Bit ADC Breakout
