Put on your sunglasses before wiring up this LED matrix — 64 eye-blistering RGBW LEDs adorn the NeoPixel NeoMatrix for a blast of configurable colour and white. Arranged in an 8×8 matrix, each pixel is individually addressable with just one microcontroller pin, delivering 32-bit colour (8-bit PWM per channel across four channels).

This is the Natural White (~4500K) version, producing a balanced, daylight-like white tone. Each RGBW LED is split — one half is the familiar RGB, the other is a white LED with a yellow phosphor. Also available in Cool White (~6000K).

Note: RGBW NeoPixels require RGBW-specific library support. Using a standard RGB NeoPixel library will produce incorrect colours. Ensure your library is configured for RGBW (SK6812) mode, with 4 bytes per pixel (256 bytes total for this panel).

Wiring

  • Connect 5V and GND from your power supply to the input port
  • Connect DIN to a digital pin on your microcontroller (pin 6 recommended for Arduino)
  • Ensure a common ground between the power supply and microcontroller
  • To chain panels: connect the first panel's DOUT to the second panel's DIN
Tip: When chaining four or more panels, you may run low on RAM on boards like the Arduino Uno (4 bytes per RGBW pixel). Consider a board with more memory for larger installations.
