The Adafruit STHS34PF80 is a compact IR presence and motion sensor that detects human and animal presence up to 4 metres away — without requiring a lens. Unlike traditional chunky PIR sensors with simple digital output, this sensor provides a full I2C interface with detailed readings on IR intensity, presence detection, movement, and temperature changes.

The surface-mount sensor comes on a STEMMA QT breakout with a 3.3V regulator and level shifting, making it compatible with both 3.3V and 5V logic. STEMMA QT / Qwiic connectors on each side enable solderless I2C daisy-chaining.
