DC-DC Step Down Buck Converter (6~24V to 5V/16A)
A high-efficiency DC-DC step-down (buck) converter that accepts 6–24 V input and delivers a stable 5 V output at up to 16 A. With over 90% conversion efficiency at typical loads and output ripple below 20 mV, it provides clean, reliable power for demanding applications.
The module includes over-temperature protection (125 °C), output short-circuit protection, and a thermal pad on the back for soldering to a large copper area to improve heat dissipation during sustained high-current operation.
Key Features
- Wide Input Range – 6–24 V DC input, stable 5 V ±1% output
- 16 A Maximum Output – Plenty of current for motors, servos, and LEDs
- High Efficiency – Over 90% at 12 V input with 1–16 A load
- Low Ripple – Less than 20 mV output noise
- Built-In Protections – Over-temperature (125 °C) and short-circuit protection
- Thermal Pad – Solder to copper pour for enhanced heat dissipation
- Control Pins – EN (enable/disable), AGND (control ground), and PGOOD (power-good status)
Control Pins
- EN – Enable/disable output via microcontroller IO pin (use a 1 kΩ series resistor)
- AGND – Single ground point for microcontroller control
- PGOOD – Outputs 5 V when output is normal, 0 V during fault or short circuit
