Espruino MDBT42Q Breakout

The Espruino MDBT42Q Breakout is a compact Bluetooth Low Energy development board running the Espruino JavaScript interpreter. Built around the nRF52832 SoC, it lets you write and deploy JavaScript code to a microcontroller instantly — no compilation or flash-erase cycles needed. Code is fully interpreted and can be uploaded wirelessly via Web Bluetooth.

This is a miniature, embeddable version of the Espruino platform, containing just the BLE module, voltage regulator, and reset button. Some light soldering is required to power it.

Key Features

  • Espruino JavaScript Interpreter – Pre-installed, ready to program out of the box
  • nRF52832 SoC – 64 MHz ARM Cortex-M4, 64 KB RAM, 512 KB flash
  • Bluetooth Low Energy – Program wirelessly via Web Bluetooth IDE
  • 22 GPIO Pins – PWM, SPI, I²C, UART capable, including 7 analogue inputs (0.1″ header)
  • Wide Voltage Input – 2.5–16 V
  • Ultra-Low Power – 20 µA when advertising via BLE
  • NFC Tag – Programmable from JavaScript (requires external antenna)
