Fermion: MEMS Hydrogen H2 Gas Detection Sensor (Breakout, 0.1-1000ppm)

The Fermion MEMS H2 Sensor is a compact hydrogen gas detection module using micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) technology. It provides qualitative measurement of hydrogen concentration from 0.1 to 1000 ppm via an analogue voltage output, with low power consumption, fast response, and a short preheat time.

At just 13 × 13 × 2.5 mm, the sensor is one of the smallest hydrogen detectors available, making it suitable for integration into space-constrained designs. It operates on 3.3–5V and interfaces easily with Arduino and other microcontrollers.

Key Features

  • MEMS Technology – Ultra-compact sensor with low power and minimal heat generation
  • Hydrogen Detection – 0.1 to 1000 ppm range
  • Analogue Output – Simple voltage-based reading
  • Low Power – Operating current <20 mA
  • Fast Response – Quick detection and rapid recovery
  • Long Lifespan – 5+ years in normal air conditions
  • 3.3V and 5V Compatible – Works with Arduino, ESP32, and other platforms

Specifications

  • Gas Detected – Hydrogen (H2)
  • Detection Range – 0.1–1000 ppm
  • Operating Voltage – 3.3–5V
  • Operating Current – <20 mA
  • Output Signal – Analogue voltage

  • Operating Temperature – -10°C to 50°C
  • Operating Humidity – 15–90% RH (non-condensing)
  • Lifespan – ≥5 years (in air)
  • Dimensions – 13 × 13 × 2.5 mm

Ideal For

  • Hydrogen leak detection and alarms
  • Fuel cell vehicle emission monitoring
  • Industrial safety and gas monitoring
  • Air quality sensing applications

Package Contents

  • 1× Fermion MEMS H2 Sensor (Breakout)
  • 1× 2.54 mm Pitch Header Pin

Resources

Warning: Remove the protective film before use. Avoid exposure to volatile silicon compounds, high concentrations of corrosive gases (H2S, SOX, Cl2, HCl), alkalis, and halogens. Do not expose to water, condensation, or freezing. This module is for qualitative measurement only and should not be used in systems involving personal safety. After extended storage, preheat for at least 24 hours before use.
