Fibonacci Clock Kit
A unique clock kit that tells time using the Fibonacci sequence. Coloured LED squares represent numbers in the sequence — green for minutes, red for hours, and purple for both. Add the values of the lit squares together to read the time. A beautiful intersection of mathematics and functional design.
The kit includes everything needed to assemble a working Fibonacci clock: enclosure parts, electronic components, LEDs, power cable, and instruction booklet. Some soldering, sanding, gluing, and clamping are required for assembly.
How It Works
- Red squares – Count as hours
- Green squares – Count as minutes (in 5-minute increments)
- Blue/Purple squares – Count as both hours and minutes
- White/Off squares – Not counted
Each square's size corresponds to a Fibonacci number (1, 1, 2, 3, 5). Add the coloured squares together to read the current time.
Key Features
- Fibonacci Sequence Display – A mathematical puzzle that tells time
- Complete Kit – All components, enclosure, and instructions included
- Open Source – Firmware and design files available on GitHub
- LED Illuminated – Colourful glow makes it a striking display piece
