This flat vibration switch is a low-sensitivity, directional trigger that closes its circuit when bumped from the side. Inside, a soft spring coiled around a metal pin makes contact when vibration or impact occurs, acting as a momentary closed switch. When still, the switch remains open.

Unlike most vibration switches, this one has a flat profile that sits flush on a PCB without sticking up. The pin spacing is breadboard-compatible, making it easy to prototype with on a solderless breadboard or solder directly into a circuit board.
