The Larson Scanner kit creates the iconic sweeping LED light effect seen in Knight Rider's KITT and the Cylons from Battlestar Galactica. Named after producer Glen A. Larson, this easy-to-solder through-hole kit uses nine large diffused red LEDs driven by a pre-programmed ATtiny2313 microcontroller.

No programming required — the microcontroller comes pre-loaded with the scanning animation. All components are through-hole, making this an excellent first soldering project. Source code and design files are available for those who want to customise the effect.
