The NFC-RFID Expansion Board adds NFC and RFID communication to your Onion Omega2 module. Built around the PN532 controller chip — the same chip found in most NFC-enabled smartphones — it can read and write to tags, communicate with phones, and emulate an NFC tag.

NFC (Near Field Communication) is an extension of RFID, so anything you can do with RFID works with this board as well. It plugs into any Onion dock equipped with a 30-pin Expansion Header, such as the Expansion Dock or Arduino Dock R2.

Note: MIFARE Classic tags can only be read, not written. Use MIFARE Ultralight tags if you need both read and write capability. Requires an Omega Dock with a 30-pin Expansion Header (sold separately).
