Sipeed Tang Primer 25K

The Sipeed Tang Primer 25K is a compact FPGA development platform built around the Gowin GW5A-LV25MG121 FPGA. Its ultra-small core board (23×18mm) makes it ideal for volume-restricted applications, while the included 25K Dock base board exposes all available pins for full development flexibility.

The base board supports a wide range of peripherals — connect a USB joystick, plug in a 40-pin SDRAM module, use three PMOD interfaces for HDMI display output, or attach a PS2 controller for a classic RetroGame console setup. It also pairs with Sipeed's range of PMOD modules, making it well-suited for FPGA education and prototyping.

Key Features

  • FPGA – Gowin GW5A-LV25MG121 with 23,040 LUT4 logic units and 23,040 flip-flop registers
  • Memory – 180K bits distributed SRAM, 1,008K bits block SRAM (56 blocks)
  • DSP – 28× 18×18 hardware multipliers
  • PLLs – 6 phase-locked loops across 8 I/O banks
  • Flash – 64 Mbit onboard NOR flash
  • General I/O – 75 pins available
  • MIPI I/O – 4-lane data interface
  • Core Board Connector – 2×60-pin BTB (board-to-board)
  • Onboard Debugger – High-speed JTAG + UART debugger via USB-C
