SparkFun Linear 3D Hall-Effect Sensor - TMAG5273 (Qwiic)
The SparkFun TMAG5273 Linear 3D Hall-Effect Sensor is a low-power, high-precision magnetic field sensor that detects the presence, strength, and direction of magnetic fields in three dimensions. Built on a standard 25.4 × 25.4 mm (1 × 1 in) Qwiic breakout, it communicates over I²C with no soldering required.
The Texas Instruments TMAG5273 features a configurable linear magnetic range (±40 mT or ±80 mT), an integrated angle calculation engine (CORDIC) with gain and offset adjustment, magnetic tamper detection, and wake-up/threshold interrupts. A built-in temperature sensor and disable button are also included on the breakout.
Key Features
- 3D Magnetic Field Sensing – Measures field strength and direction across X, Y, and Z axes
- Configurable Range – ±40 mT (820 LSB/mT) or ±80 mT (410 LSB/mT)
- High Precision – ±0.5° rotational accuracy over 360°
- Ultra-Low Power – 2.3 mA active, 1 µA wake-up/sleep, 5 nA deep sleep
- Built-In Temperature Sensor – Range −40 °C to +170 °C with compensation
- Qwiic I²C Interface – Two horizontal Qwiic connectors; default address 0x35
- Interrupt Pin – Configurable threshold and tamper detection alerts
