The SparkFun Photon Battery Shield provides portable LiPo battery power and charging for the Particle Photon (and Particle Core). It features a JST connector for a single-cell LiPo battery and charges via the Photon's onboard micro USB connector, making it easy to build battery-powered IoT projects.

The shield uses a MCP73831 charge controller for safe LiPo charging and a MAX1704X fuel gauge IC for monitoring battery level. Headers come pre-soldered for immediate plug-and-play use.
