SparkFun Pulsed Radar Breakout - A111

The SparkFun A111 Pulsed Radar Breakout brings 60 GHz pulsed coherent radar (PCR) to your projects. The Acconeer A111 is a single-chip radar sensor with an integrated antenna and SPI interface (up to 50 MHz), capable of high-precision distance measurement as well as gesture, motion, material, and speed detection at distances up to two metres.

The breakout includes a 1.8V regulator and voltage-level translation, with all sensor pins broken out to both 0.1" headers and a Raspberry Pi-compatible 2×13 header. It's designed to sit directly on a Raspberry Pi but can also be manually wired to other ARMv7 or ARM Cortex-M4 platforms.

Key Features

  • 60 GHz Pulsed Coherent Radar – Far beyond ultrasonic or infrared sensing
  • Integrated Antenna – Single-chip solution, no external antenna needed
  • Up to 2m Range – High-precision distance, speed, motion, and gesture detection
  • SPI Interface – Up to 50 MHz clock speed
  • 1.8V Regulator & Level Translation – Onboard power regulation for easy integration
  • Dual Header Options – 0.1" breakout pins and 2×13 Raspberry Pi-compatible header

Ideal For

  • High-precision distance measurement
  • Gesture and motion sensing
  • Speed detection applications
  • Material detection and classification
  • Raspberry Pi radar projects

Package Contents

  • 1× SparkFun Pulsed Radar Breakout (A111)
  • 1× 2×13 header (unsoldered, for Raspberry Pi connection)
Note: The A111 SDK currently only supports ARMv7 and ARM Cortex-M4 architectures. The 2×13 header is intentionally left unsoldered for flexibility in wiring to other compatible platforms.
