SparkFun Solid State Relay Kit

A through-hole soldering kit that builds a solid-state relay (SSR) breakout board. Solid-state relays switch high-voltage AC loads from low-voltage DC control signals with no moving parts, offering faster switching, longer lifespan, and lower control current than mechanical relays.

After assembly, connect your AC load and switch it on and off using a 5 V microcontroller output. Suitable for controlling lights, fans, water pumps, and other intermittent AC devices.

Warning: This relay is rated for a maximum of 125 V AC — it is not suitable for Australian 230 V mains. It is designed for AC loads only. Exercise great care, safety, and knowledge when working with high-voltage circuits.

Specifications

  • SSR IC – S108T02F
  • Maximum Load – 125 V AC at 8 A
  • Control Voltage – 5 V DC
  • Signal Current – 16–50 mA
  • Dimensions – 28.5 × 33.3 mm
  • Assembly – Through-hole soldering kit (beginner-friendly)
