SparkX Pro RF - LoRa®-enabled 915MHz
The SparkX Pro RF combines an ATmega32U4 microcontroller (Pro Micro) with a long-range RFM95W LoRa radio in a compact, battery-ready form factor. Operating in the 915 MHz ISM band, it provides excellent point-to-point data transmission for wireless sensor networks, remote monitoring, and IoT projects.
The board includes a LiPo connector with onboard charging, a power switch, and a Qwiic connector for quick I2C sensor hookups. Each I/O pin is paired with an adjacent ground connection for easy wiring. Closing a few jumpers exposes the DIO pins on the RFM95W, enabling LoRaWAN mode for use as a node on distributed networks such as The Things Network.
Key Features
- ATmega32U4 + RFM95W – Arduino-compatible microcontroller with integrated LoRa radio
- 915 MHz ISM Band – Long-range wireless communication (up to ~460 m line-of-sight with wire antenna; several kilometres with a proper antenna)
- LoRaWAN Ready – Jumper-selectable DIO pins for LoRaWAN node operation
- LiPo Battery Support – JST connector with onboard charger; charges even when switched off
- Qwiic Connector – Fast I2C sensor and actuator hookup
- Paired Ground Pins – Every I/O pin has an adjacent ground for convenient wiring
- Stress-Relief Antenna Hole – Protects wire antenna in embedded or wearable installations
