Automation pHAT

The Automation pHAT is a compact home monitoring and automation controller for Raspberry Pi. With a relay, analog channels, powered outputs, and buffered inputs — all 24V tolerant — you can connect a wide range of sensors and actuators to your Pi in one neat package.

It uses the same Python library as the larger Automation HAT, automatically detecting which board is connected. The library includes examples for reading analog and digital inputs, switching outputs, and controlling the relay.

Key Features

  • 24V @ 2A Relay – NC and NO terminals for switching loads
  • 3× 12-bit ADC Channels – 0–24V input range via ADS1015 (±2% accuracy)
  • 3× Buffered Inputs – 24V tolerant digital inputs
  • 3× Sinking Outputs – 24V tolerant, 500 mA total across all three
  • 3.5mm Screw Terminals – Secure, tool-fastened connections
  • SPI Pins Broken Out – For additional expansion
  • pHAT Form Factor – Compact size for space-constrained builds

Specifications

  • ADC – ADS1015, 12-bit, 3 channels, 0–24V, ±2% accuracy
  • Relay – 1× SPDT, 24V @ 2A (NC and NO)
  • Outputs – 3× sinking, 24V tolerant, 500 mA total
  • Inputs – 3× buffered, 24V tolerant
  • Compatibility – Raspberry Pi 3B+, 3, 2, B+, A+, Zero, Zero W
Warning: Do not use this board to switch mains voltages. The relay is rated for low-voltage DC loads only.
Note: Female header and broken-out pins require soldering. Buffered outputs should be switched on the ground side (supply → load → output terminal → ground). The relay should be switched on the high side.

Ideal For

  • Smart home automation and monitoring
  • Greenhouse and irrigation control
  • Scheduled feeding and watering systems
  • Raspberry Pi-based sensor hubs

Package Contents

  • 1× Automation pHAT
