FireBeetle OSD Character Overlay Module
The FireBeetle OSD Character Overlay Module adds on-screen character display to composite video (AV) signals. Based on the AT7456E OSD chip, it overlays up to 16×30 characters onto NTSC or PAL video feeds — ideal for adding timestamps, telemetry data, or status information to camera and monitoring systems.
The module communicates via SPI and is directly compatible with DFRobot's FireBeetle mainboard series. It includes 512 bytes of EEPROM for user-defined characters, a built-in font library, and supports blink, inverse colour, and per-line brightness control.
Key Features
- AT7456E OSD Chip – Single-channel on-screen character overlay
- 16×30 Character Display – Up to 480 characters at 18×12 pixel resolution (540×192 total)
- NTSC & PAL Compatible – Works with both video standards
- 512-Byte EEPROM – Store custom user-defined characters
- Built-In Font Library – Ready-to-use character set
- Character Effects – Blink, inverse colour, and background control
- Per-Line Brightness – Adjustable lightness on a line-by-line basis
